Since opening registration last week, we’ve had conference signups from as far away as Germany.
Registration is open, with some great speakers, including Peter Thiel (PayPal founder and philanthropist), Paul Romer (Stanford professor behind charter cities), David Friedman (Santa Clara professor and well-known political theorist), Erwin Strauss (author of “How To Start Your Own Country”), Sean Hastings (founder & CEO of HavenCo on SeaLand) and others. August 10, 2009 — The Seasteading Institute is excited to announce that registration is open for the second annual Seasteading Conference, to be held September 28-30, 2009 in San Francisco, California.
This exhibit will include high-quality giclee posters of the seasteading design contest winners, designed and printed by volunteers Jesse Crawford and Dave Walen:

This post is being written to supplement our announcement of the First Annual Ephemerisle Festival. Some people may wonder why Ephemerisle is an important initiative for seasteading, and why it is worth devoting some of our limited resources to.
The Seasteading Institute is excited to announce that public registration is open for the first annual Ephemerisle Festival, being held October 2-4, 2009 in the Sacramento River Delta. Ephemerisle is a floating festival of politics, community, and art in celebration of political freedom and diversity.
TSI needs your help. We have some great ideas about how to advance the vision of seasteading, but our financial resources are limited. We can’t depend on our single major donor forever, so we need to pull together as a community to independently fund important initiatives.

The Story
