At our August Bay Area social, the group overwhelmingly showed support for a gathering every two or three months. After many months of research, I present the final document of the dissertation that I am submitting to the PhD committee at my University. The full text can be downloaded here. Unfortunately, it is in Spanish, and with only a small abstract in English, but The Seasteading Institute is planning to have it translated into English.
Seasteading has recently received a lot of media attention after an article published in Details on August 13 has been picked up by numerous media outlets, including the front page of Yahoo! News.
Building on the concepts set out in Dario Mutabdzija and Max Borders’ first legal strategy paper, the authors offer this second paper, “Building the Platform: Challenges, Solutions, and Decisions in Seasteading Law” as a more practical guide to seasteading legal issues.
Seasteading is poised to move forward in some big ways, including a new venture being launched by former Seasteading Institute staff. Max Marty and Dario Mutabdzija, former directors of business and legal strategy respectively, are starting a seasteading venture named Blueseed. Blueseed will create a visa-free technology incubator for startups and knowledge workers in international waters off the coast of the San Francisco Bay Area. For more information, visit blueseed.co.
