Actively avoid storms by moving around. Small waves grow
into large waves slowly, so thanks to metereological satellites
and computer prediction, it is reasonable to expect around 5 days
of advance notice in which to avoid bad waves [Chui2000]. This gives enough time
for a sailboat fleet to
run away, although not a lumbering platform.
