I definately want to help. I'm up for:
Web research assistant
Forum administrator - I have some experience here
Wiki Organizer
Regional Evangelist - I can currently go to all of Denmark, Southern Sweden, and Northern Germany and evangelize in Danish and English, orally and in writing. I have experience in speaking to an audience.
Manual Labor? Yes, but I assume the work is going to take place in California. For now I'm only availible in Northern Europe.
Translation are a good point: i could translate things to dutch. On the other hand, would there be much interest in translations? Thats questionable.
Would love to help. Unfortunately, I'm not an engineer or IT guy, so those avenues are gone.
I might be able to come over and help with the grunt work. Also, perhaps regional ambassador for Australia and/or Asia. I should be able to handle translation to Chinese. Skills that may or may not be useful: recreational pilot, scuba divemaster, economist & politician.
Well it looks like the world has finally come around to one of my old Big Ideas.
About 20 years ago I had the idea of a floating city called New Atlantis, that was 20 stories deep. It ran on the thermal gradient of the ocean, and was moored in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico.
I had made many analysis' solving the large problems of such a life supporting structure.
In any case I would seriously consider a for-pay position with this group, somewhere in the engineering feasability planning section of this organization. I am well versed in engineering, physics, chemistry, math (up to a point), economics, politics, electronics and control systems, programming, and a whole slew of everything else.
I am the real deal, and I still retain my quixotic imagination, despite having been dissuaded from having such a viewpoint by society.
All I need is the proper venue to apply my skills and this is certainly exactly on point to one of my lifelong goals.
I have a degree in Ocean Engineering from Annapolis, and have kept up with developments in marine structures, particularly in ferrocement and concrete in a marine environment. I also have a good background in power systems and support infrastructure. I have been interested in maritime communities, or sea-steading, for years and would be very interested in participating in making the concept a reality.

Would love to help out, however I can. Currently in Southern CA, but would consider relocating.
Skills/experience:
3d graphics in Blender, am also proficent in Gimp and Inkscape
BS in Engineering, currently working in design and fabrication of machinery
basic SCUBA certification, sailing experience, training for airplane pilot's license
experience with ferrocement as well as welding (mig, tig, and stick) and machining (milling and turning)
I'll have the ability to do independent research for law school credit during the next two years. I'll see what I can come up with on my own, but if you have any suggestions about particular topics, let me know!
I'm starting a Ph.D. program in physical oceanography and I'd love to help fill out the section of the book on the ocean environment. I probably wouldn't be able to meaningfully contribute for at least a year. I would need some guidance on what content would be appropriate and what level to pitch it at and what format you would like it in (ascii, LaTeX, open office, html etc.).
I also have an engineering degree, but not specific to civil or ocean engineering. I have been working on some different seastead structure concepts, and didnt have the knowledge to properly adress some questions about concrete. I hope to post some of my work here somewhere in the next days, it would be great if you could comment on it, especially the parts concerning the costs and manufacturability of concrete.
-Study physics (Specializing in astronomy and astrobioligy) in University of Turku, Finland. so if you got any physics problems i could help.
-little 3d modelling with blender, but not very good at it
-little bit svg coding and vector drawing
-can finnish and english, so if you need something translated finnish-english i could help.
